According to the news, the talk around the water cooler or coffee, and anyone else looking to share their opinion, it can seem that the real estate market and investing is doomed. If that is what you want to believe then you will find problems and have difficulty in seeing opportunities around you. However, if you refuse to accept the gloom and doom you will be able to see the opportunities and successes taking place around you every day.
For the next year my mission will be to point out success stories from fellow REAP members. My grandfather taught me something when I was a teenager and I have come to believe it to be a fundamental success principle. Success Principle: Success leaves clues. Success is taking place every day by people and companies around you. They are not luckier or smarter than you and me. What they have is a plan based on what has worked for others, taking the correct actions on a daily basis, and know that success is possible amongst all the noise of failure, gloom, and doom.
Each week as I share the stories of fellow REAPS members you will see what they are doing, read what is working for them as well as what has not and what they do to keep themselves moving forward and motivated. Another Success Principle:
Knowledge + Attitudes + Skills + Habits = Success
I will keep this principle in mind as I meet and talk with members who are having success in what they are doing. You will see how they got started and what they are doing. You will get a glimpse into their attitudes and habits. If you are looking you will find ideas that you can use to improve yourself and your real estate business on your road to success. Take the time to spend time with those who see the possibilities and are not following the norm and you will start to see possibilities as well and find yourself changing your non-supportive habits. I truly believe that no matter where you are or what happened to you last year or in years past; you can make this year a better year.
